Each Reflective Essay should a thoughtful, substantial response of 1.5-2 pages plus a cited references page. Grading will be based on content and formal writing (spelling/grammar/formatting). Your instructor will not be able to access any submissions saved this way and you will not receive credit for the assignment.

Reaction Essay #4 Prompt Option B:Explore how politicians use propaganda techniques and “spin” to sway public opinion. Identify propaganda used in past and current ads and examine how politicians spin current events to suit their own agendas. How do a candidate’s party affiliation and agenda inform their public comments? Is there an art to this? Is this a form of creative communication or storytelling, or is it simply a lie? How do propaganda and spin affect the election process, especially in televised public debates? Explore ways citizens decipher propaganda and spin in order to make an educated decision when voting.
