Your PowerPoint will be based on the article you chose (please include a link to the article in your PowerPoint). You do not need to have your article approved, just be sure you are able to apply AT LEAST FOUR of the following areas of business law to it:
1. Jurisdiction and Venue
2. Either Contract or Tort or Criminal (or combination)
3. Business Ethics
4. Property Law
5. Either Agency or Employment
Address four of the five areas above on seperate slides. On each slide, you should explain how that area directly relates to your article and apply how it either positively or negatively affects the parties involved. For example: In this article, the State Trial Court would have original jurisdiction and a trial would occur in Harris County, TX, where the defendant is headquartered. The advantages (or disadvantages) of this over another jurisdiction/ venue are that neither party will have to incur the additional costs related to an out-of-state trial.
The ultimate goal is to understand how important the role of Business Law plays in actual business decisions and how those decisions can ultimately affect businesses. You should specifically apply the legal principles we have learned in class!
